Dan Van Peursem
I was born and raised in Orange City, Iowa where I also went to Northwestern College. After teaching high school mathematics for a year I decided to further my education and went to the University of South Dakota where I received my Master’s Degree and then earned a PhD from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Upon receiving my degree I was offered a position at the University of South Dakota where I currently serve as chair of the Department of Mathematical Sciences. My wife Jennifer (Mitchell), and I have three kids: Joel, Abby, and Luke. Hobbies are woodworking, beekeeping, and watching our kids as they participate in sports and music.
