I grew up in Truman, MN. I earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Southwest State University, Marshall, MN in 2002, where I also met my husband, Chad. In 2004, I earned a Master of Science in Occupational Therapy degree from the University of South Dakota. After graduation, we returned to Marshall, MN, where I worked as an occupational therapist in a rural outpatient private practice clinic and my husband worked as a diesel mechanic and farmed. I earned a Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree through the post-professional program at the University of South Dakota in 2016. In 2017, we returned to Vermillion when I joined the USD Occupational Therapy. I serve as the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator and teach courses in Level II fieldwork, upper extremity rehabilitation, and splinting. In addition to my service roles at the University, I also serve as a co-leader of Vermillion’s South Dakota Alzheimer’s Association Caregiver Support Group, Secretary of the South Dakota Occupational Therapy Association, and a board member and exam writing committee member of the Lymphology Association of North America. We have three children Michael, Catie, and Sam.
