My name is Kari Oyen and I am an assistant professor and the School Psychology Program Director at the University of South Dakota. I grew up in Chancellor, SD and am a proud graduate of Lennox High School, Augustana University, and the University of South Dakota (All in South Dakota!). I live on a rural acreage near Vermillion with my husband, Nick, and two daughters, who both attend Vermillion School District.
My mom is a retired school teacher and was a public school teacher for 41 years. She taught me the importance of high quality public education. I believe that public education is a civil right for all children and we should do all that we can to ensure that our most valuable asset, our children, have access to high quality education! I support public education and am proud of the work that is advanced through the Vermillion Public Schools Foundation!
